I take interest in a lot of software related things. One hobby of
mine is writing software for old computers and video game systems.
I've been a member of the C64 demo group Hack n Trade since 2009. I
work with software, and as I've gotten older I feel like I don't
want to spend as much time on this hobby as I used to.
I am also interested in music and have released a couple of albums
of chip music. Some years ago some friends and I hosted an acid
house/techno online advent calendar. I think our second run stopped
on the 34th December or some such because there were too many
submissions. We have since stopped hosting it, but others have
continued the tradition, which I am very proud of. In 2014 I did a
four night tour in Russia, "performing" my music I mostly composed
in my underwear to crowds of people I hadn't considered might have
heard it, staying with very hospitable hosts. I got to sign a Dendy
cartridge!
In maybe 2011 I launched my first Gopher server. It was hosted with
a python script at home from what was supposed to be a small, cheap
NAS, using some free DynDNS service for a domain. This eventually
evolved into what is today boomlin.de, which is hosted at Hetzner,
along with this server. I mostly bought this domain for fun (you can
find four letter domains on the new, weird TLDs yet!) but I think I
might use it for blogging.
