Failures, failures...
=====================
It seems like my Intel Compute Stick (Ubuntu version) failed. It's fan does not
start and there is no image nor network activity. It's more than 2 years old so
it is probably normal that it failed.
So I have to do some re-arrangement of my home office:
* moved the unfortunate Compute Stick out
* displaced the printer (which failed few days ago)
* moved the Power Mac 6100 out (I was started 2 times in last 3 years so it
does not make any sense to have it readily available)
* installed the Lenovo X61s to the place freed by the printer
The Lenovo X61s is not in a perfect condition but I have to use it as a Stick
replacement for secure WWW and to interface some of modern USB devices. It's
actually faster than the Stick (Core2Duo vs Atom) and it has bigger RAM (4GB vs
1 GB), not mention the storage (128 GB SSD vs 8 GB of something strange in the
Stick). So performance-wise is should not be a downgrade. But the computer is
not new and I have no idea how long it will work.
The only problem is that at the moment I have no working printer available
(even not a text-only one).
