BlackBird usage during lockdown
===============================
Many people have had to change their modes of work during the lockdown
and the "home office preferred" time. Actually, I was in my office near
as often as I should be normally because I wasn't able to to a lot of
things remotely. Anyway, I have found that I have been working at home
(thus I have been working more hours than before - but I don;t thing
that I has been more productive).
Usually, I has been spending a lot of time on videoconferences
(meeting, on-line teaching, on-line exams) and have been doing other
things that were unnecessary before.
At home I have been doing the "off-line" tasks like creation of
documents for teaching and for exams (in LaTeX) which included some
computations and of course drawing of pictures. I also have been doing
some technical computations and even written some lines of code at one
occasion. These thing I have been doing on my TALOS BlackBird
workstation (a POWER9-based computer with the Fedora/ppc64le). So IA
have been using both my SGI machines (well, I turned my SGI Indigo on
just to read Gopher on a few Sundays...) and the x86 laptop (the GPD
Pocket 1) just for free-time tasks (so they have been used very
infrequently).
