VR3: some more info
===================

Below are some notes which I wrote on (and about) my Agenda VR3.

---------------------------------------

VR3 Apps
--------

I still have been playing with my new Agenda VR3. There are some build-in basic
applications which are actually decent (a calendar, a to do list, a note taking
program, a calculator and others). But I have problems with the desktop side.
Both the VRSync and the Agenda Desktop do not compile on the modern Linux.

At least the Notes program uses plain text files so the notes can be rsync-ed
with the desktop.

Oh, and there is also the RXVT, which is great.

At the moment I use only two additional programs the TWReader (it can read Palm
DOC and TXT files) and the XSpread. The reader program is simple but fine.

The spreadsheet is simple (as the "sc" itself is) but it is very usable and
nice for small computations. I have several tiny tools in the "sc" format is I
can use them here without changes. Its a bit geeky but it just works.

There is also the Prescribble application. It can be used for freehand drawing.

At the moment I don't plan to try more programs here. Maybe in the future...

VR3 annoyances
--------------

As a long-time Palm user, I have some complaints to the VR3's GUI:

* default input is not so default - one or two clicks are often needed (in the
  ToDo, the Calendar...),
* handwriting IS possible but letters are different,
* hardware buttons are rather virtual and cannot be configured
* there are no categories in the Calendar!
* no chance to set Monday as week start in Calendar!
