Answers to christyotwisty's 5 questions for Feb of 2023[0]
1. Do you offer advice to close friends who seem to struggle (e.g. obsession
with unrequited love object, executive dysfunction, unhealthful eating or
drinking patterns) or do you wait for them to solicit advice from you?
.
I offer unsolicited advice to those I am particularly close to. For casual
friends or more difficult/tumultuous friends/family I tend to wait until
asked.

2. What is the best view where you live?
.
I live in the mountains and it is beautiful here year round most places one
could/would look. As such, I will choose a more sappy answer: There is a
park at the top of a hill overlooking two lakes (really, one is a reservoir
formed because the dam was failing at the lake and it was deemed more
expensive to repair it than to build a second damn a little ways back and
flood the intervening area (minus a strip of road running between the two).
I take my daughter to this park and from the swings we have a view of the
hillside I live near, the two lakes, beautiful sky and mountains, etc. So
my daughter laughing as I push her on the swings in that place, is the best
view.

3. What useful skill would you want a nontech-inclined friend to learn? Could
be a technical or a life skill.
.
I don't have many in person friends now. I recommend coding to any that ask.
But really I think my advice is cooking. It is so satisfying. By cooking I
mean getting to the point that you can make good food from most anything
on hand and being confident in your ability to do so.

4. Is there a habit, initiative, or project you'd undertake if you had a
supportive buddy or partner to join you? Or at least volunteer care of your
dependents during your undertaking? If yes, what is it?
.
I'd love to get back to playing music in person with other human beings.
However, the only person I know nearby does not really vibe well with
me musically and I dont get much time to play anymore. So, I'd love
having a buddy to play music with. Maybe a drummer with a jazz background.
Other than that, I would love time to learn to sew (and am currently
trying to make time to do so since my partner has encouraged me to do so
and is willing to spend some extra time with our daughter while I do so).

5. What is your favourite slow cooker recipe, or slow cooker recipe
repository? ("I don't have one" is a perfectly valid response if true, in
which case I would ask you to name and describe your favourite clock tower)
.
Hmmmm... I don't have a good answer for this. I don't eat meat. Cooking meat
in a slow cooker is a good way to cook certain kinds of meat... I tend to go
the oposite direction and use a pressure cooker to _speed up_ cooking and not
have to bother with a traditional slow cooker. I do not believe I have ever
seen a clock tower in person.
